1. Can I use PlanetTalk to call other countries while I am travelling in China?

Yes. You can continue to use the PlanetTalk app while travelling to any country to call other countries, except North Korea.

If you are using a supported UK number, you can continue to use your UK PlanetTalk number while in China by switching your call settings from Local Access to Wi-Fi Call Settings. This allows you to make calls over a Wi-Fi connection and helps you avoid roaming charges from your mobile network provider.

To switch to Wi-Fi Call:

• Open the PlanetTalk app.
• Go to Settings.
• Select Change Call Type.
• Choose Wi-Fi Call Settings.
  
  

Please note: The Local Access option is only available for supported UK numbers. Customers registered with numbers from France, Canada, Ireland, or the USA do not have access to the Local Access option. 

We also recommend switching off mobile data and disabling roaming in your phone settings while using Wi-Fi to help avoid additional charges from your mobile network provider.
